Course Description
This course is aimed at all staff:
- Who participate in the operation of the quality system – in the conduct of operations of the organization or in its support activities
- Who participate in the management of the quality system
- Who participate in the management of the organisation.
Organisations are increasingly required to be certified in order to meet market requirements. Investigating non-conformances by using root cause analysis procedures is a requirement of certification. This course will provide information to all staff seeking ways to systematically analyse non-conformances and potential non-conformances for their root causes – so that appropriate action can be taken to prevent initial occurrence or recurrence, as required.
Course Learning Objectives
The course will assist you to:
- understand the basic approaches to root cause analysis;
- appreciate the most appropriate considerations in conducting root cause analysis;
- understand how to determine if root cause analysis is required;
- identify the major components of a root cause analysis;
- implement appropriate root cause analysis;
- understand the requirements for implementing corrective and preventive action;
- identify the types of non-conformances and potential non-conformances;
- document corrective and preventive actions, and
- understand how to close out and follow up issues from all sources.
Your Instructor
Ned is the Principal of MOTIVA Training Inc. He also serves as the current Training Manager of International Accreditation Service Inc (IAS), a signatory to both the ILAC and IAF Conventions. Ned started in laboratory quality systems in 1992 and has been involved in accreditation since 1996, including 10 years as the Quality Manager of an ILAC signatory body.
Ned once served on the ISO/CASCO committees that wrote 17025 and revised it in 2005. He represented ILAC on ISO TC 176, the committee responsible for ISO 9000.
Ned served 15 years as a Lead Evaluator for ILAC and APLAC and the trainer for APLAC. A world traveller in the service of the UN, Ned has deployed to developing nations to assist in the creation and implementation of conformant accreditation programs. Ned recently retired from representing IAS at both ILAC and APLAC.
His hobby is flying Mooney’s. His favourite topic is leadership.
